Measures 500mm wide x 275mm deep x 215mm high. This box needs a clean up and polish to bring it back to a super looking writing slope. The internal brasswork is fine but dirty. more is f in e and commensurate with age but there is no woodwork damage and the original leather skiver is dist ressed and needs replacement. Crack s or lose/missing veneer the re a few surface knocks due to age/use and the brasswork need s cleaning. The external condition of the box is fine with no major damage. I believe that this writing slope is all original including the brass hinges and lock which is in working order with a key provided. The external wood of the box has a nice original patina and a rich coloured flame grain affect, with brass cartouche and escutcheon.
