In the 800 meters, Kieran McDermott (1:53.58) finished seventh, while Jack Kenkel (1:55.23) and Scott Thompson (1:56.32) finished 11th and 14th respectively. Meanwhile, Chris Paige (55.32) took third in the 400-meter hurdles. Taraje Whitfield (14.51) and Jovan Aigbekaen (14.60) finished one-two in the 110-meter hurdles. Phillippy and Topfer raced in the 200 meters as well, with Michael Phillippy (21.30) crossing the finishing line in first, and Ladislav Topfer (21.60) taking fourth.

This event is familiar to many and easily identifiable in. Although history tells us the implement was 3-4 times heavier than the modern day discus, athletes use the same basic slinging delivery today.
